I posted this photo on Instagram and the sweet mama in the photo posted this comment:
“Agh! We saw these the other day and I was trying to find the right words to say thank you. These pics truly captured our crazy and we couldn’t be more grateful to you and your awesome talent! We just love every single one! You were such a joy to spend the afternoon with and even the kids had a blast.”
It was one of the best compliments as a lifestyle photographer because I love when families ditch the idea of perfection and just let me capture your crazy. Because the crazy IS perfection. I want my families to look at these photos and instantly be transported back to that afternoon at Carlsbad’s beautiful Leo Carrillo Ranch. I want them to remember how their kids were racing around the property exploring and searching for the albino peacock. I want them to remember how much they laughed from all the tickle fights, and how it felt so good to have one giant all-family hug.
I am so grateful and glad when my families love the photos from their session. But I am fulfilled when they tell me they had fun. Because #makingfamilyphotosfun is my #1 goal.
